[World Heritage Memory Net World Heritage Memory Net (WHMNet) is a multimedia and multilingual global digital library of the world's culture, history, and heritage related to the current 1007 World Heritage Sites - 779 of these are 'cultural' sites, 197 'natural', and 31 'mixed' - of 161 countries / states parties inscribed by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee. Of these 1007, 46 sites are 'in danger' and 31 are ‘transboundary’. Directed by Ching-chih Chen, Professor Emeriti of the Graduate School of Library and Information Science, Simmons College and currently the president of Global Connection and Collaboration (GlobalCC), a nonprofit tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization.
