[Mutual Engine & Hose Co. #1 - Westchester County, NY The Mutual Engine & Hose Co. #1 was established in 1878 and has been a private fire company that has contracted fire protection with the Village/Town of Mount Kisco since. We are one of four private companies that contracts fire protection to the Village/Town, the other companies being the Union Hook & Ladder Co., the Mount Kisco Rescue/Fire Police, and the Independent Fire Company. These four companies make up the Mount Kisco Fire Department. The Mutual Engine & Hose Co. #1, along with the other three companies pride oursleves on being made up of 100% volunteer firefighters, keeping fire protection costs low for the taxpayers.
